How The Block Of Art Started

The Block of Art (BOA) began in 2007 as a grassroots effort to bring an arts event to downtown Pottsville, a historic town in eastern Pennsylvania, about two hours northwest of Philadelphia.

Since its inception, BOA has grown from year to year.  It has welcomed hundreds of people to downtown Pottsville for its signature spring event and in 2019 transformed into a weekend street festival that included art galleries, activities, music and dance performances.
